02.07.2011 - Hattrick with 3rd win in a row leads now to 2nd place in ADAC Junior Cup

Due to the third win in a row in Div. 7 Valentin Hummel and Katja Geyer are now 2nd in the ADAC Rally Junior Cup after the 6th ADAC Rally Niedersachsen in Osterode am Harz. A sensational 12th place overall against much stronger competitors completes the great success of the most demanding rally so far.

Changing weather conditions with rain showers made it difficult for the drivers and all played poker with their tire choices. After the team had started with semi-slicks, they remained on them the first two sections, hoping for a dry SS. When the rain on the circuit of SS5 finally stayed away, Valentin took his advantage to get the lead with 37 seconds over its competitors Jerlitschka/Jerlitschka on Opel Astra GTC, that are starting in the HJS Diesel Masters and at the moment ranked on P5 in the championship. Previously, they fought for tenths of a second for the best time, but then the team were able to steadily increase its lead.

On SS5 and SS12 the team could even reach the 11th position overall and extend its lead in the division to 42 seconds at the end.

After the team had finished the fast-paced and very slippery 106 SS-km and reached another division win, it was not just a hattrick, but they could also celebrate the 2nd place in the ADAC Rally Junior Cup.

Up to the finals in September and October it remains exciting...
